ViaCLIX collaborates with AMD to provide pay-TV operators with Total Access technology

Los Gatos, CA – October 05, 2009  ViaCLIX, a technology solution provider leading the convergence between pay-TV and Internet Television, today announced its collaboration with AMD, an innovative technology company dedicated to delivering next generation computing and graphics solutions. The companies have worked together to help deliver ViaCLIX Total Accessä technology to service providers who want to enable their consumers to use a single system to watch their own pay-TV service in addition to Internet television, communications and other entertainment.

By utilizing AMD processors and chipsets on ViaCLIX's Total Access Centerä (the new generation Set Top Box called ICE Box) and middleware will enable operators to deliver Internet directly to a TV screen by adding on their existing broadcasts easily and seamlessly.  Consumers can now seamlessly move between their Pay-TV channels and Internet TV (such as Hulu and YouTube), entertainment and information channels by simply using the channel up/down buttons on their remote control.  In addition, ViaCLIX' end-to-end solution will bring video conferencing,  games and interactive advertising  directly  to any television set, essentially turning any television into a complete entertainment, information, and communications center.

Lida Nobakht, ViaCLIX CEO, commented, “our software solution is applicable to any pay-TV operator, be it cable, satellite, terrestrial or IPTV that is concerned about Internet TV cannibalizing their business.  Our solution is unique in that it enables them to deliver true interactive internet content adding new revenue streams and creating new business models.”  Jim Clymer, ViaCLIX CTO, added, “AMD’s CPUs and companion chipsets provide us the processing speed and infrastructure required to enable ViaCLIX’s software solutions to deliver interactive content in a way never before seen.”

The AMD 780M/710 chipset and several AMD Athlon™ processor options combined with ViaCLIX software support ViaCLIX’s Internet based Channel Network for the TV, PC, handheld and mobile devices.  All on line merchant transactions use a 128-bit token coded delivery system, the highest level of e-security in the world.

“There is a strong customer benefit to offering integrated internet, communications and entertainment solutions.  AMD’s embedded platforms that bring together processor, chipset and graphics are an excellent high-performance, low-power foundation for these systems,” said Buddy Broeker, director, Embedded Computing Solutions, AMD.  “We see ViaCLIX as being a trail blazer in this new era with the ICE Box that can seamlessly integrate the traditional world of pay and Internet TV.”

About ViaCLIX Technology

ViaCLIX developed their end-to-end solution over the past 15 years, a key solution includes code which allows them to write script in any font or language, including calligraphic fonts such as Arabic  and Farsi, crisp and clear on any size TV (HD or SD) or handheld device.  They also patented Internet Based Channel Network, the technology offers Service Providers the ability to sell unlimited Internet channels – this technology applies to all PC, TV, handheld, and mobile devices.  ViaCLIX also brings the internet to the TV or cellular device seamlessly so viewers can surf the net from the comfort of their living room couch or while walking about.  And don’t worry about the size of the font on your TV, ViaCLIX has developed technology that can increase the viewed font size making it easy to read from 10 to 15 feet away.  Another significant patented technology is their Interactive Targeted Ads which allows the advertiser the ability to actually focus specific users that are interested in their product and get a real-time response – not only a response but, a sale using ViaCLIX patented SmartCard technology to complete the transaction.  This can happen over live streaming television programming or when using banner advertising.

ViaCLIX's multi-patented integration of software and hardware merge together the power of television with the depth and scope of the Internet, providing users with a broad range of entertainment and information access directly on their television screens.  ViaCLIX technology gives content providers new paths to generate substantial revenues through enhanced advertising as well as scores of value-added features like a new and commanding video-on-demand (VOD) platform to distribute movies and television programming.

ViaCLIX gives advertisers a distinct edge over almost any other type of media by bringing together two of the most powerful forms of advertising, television and the Internet.  ViaCLIX's patented server-based technology provides the additional advantage of targeting, addressability, and consumer tracking, with measureable results, making commercials substantially more effective and valuable.  Additionally, clickable banner ads and messages can be integrated into commercials and programming, as well as throughout the user interface.

ViaCLIX is not only an ideal system for centralizing all entertainment, information, and communications; it also provides consumers all over the world easy access to the information age at an extremely affordable price. The possibilities are endless.
