Our system consists of 3 products, our back-end Middleware, our client ViaCLIX Browser, a Set-Top Box.

Do I have to use ViaCLIX Set-Top Box or can I use my exisiting or source my own Set-Top Box?
ViaCLIX convergent client platform is designed to run on today's state-of-the-art Set-Top Boxes using cutting edge x86 CPUs with graphics capability that can display up to 1080p video flawlessly. This means using x86 CPUS which are designed for consumer electronics, such as AMD 780 chipset The ViaCLIX STB also includes many of the connectors on the back which are optimized for television and consumer electronics (versus PC type of interfaces). The bottom line is that the ViaCLIX convergent client can run on any STB that has an x86 CPU and enough memory and graphics to play 1080p video flawlessly. We believe that the ViaCLIX STB is a great example and model for an x86 based Set-Top Box.

How does ViaClix integrate with existing Pay-TV networks?
ViaCLIX can easily be integrated into exisitng cable or IPTV networks to add InternetTV offering. Depending on the type of network deployed, we can support CableTV Tuner cards that support CableCard OCUR standard or DVB-C. IPTV is even easier since content is already being delivered over IP via Ethernet to the Set-Top Box.

How is ViaCLIX different than IPTV?
IPTV today is still about reselling premium content to users under a subscription fee, in essense pay-TV offering that compares to Cable & Satellite offerings. Another important distiction is that IPTV offerings are evolving to allow service providers to offer their service to clients over the Internet (vs. managed network). It's important to note that this is still a pay-TV subscription. The key difference between IPTV & ViaCLIX is that ViaCLIX enables Service Operators to add InternetTV content alongside pay-TV and adding new revenue streams by giving customers the abilty to access their favorite content on the Internet using a single Set-Top Box for both traditional pay-TV and InternetTV.
